Prince Nasiru Saliu Ikharo is the General Manager and Head of the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). Before his promotion to this position, he served as Lagos Zonal Coordinator (2005 -2006) and Benin Zonal Coordinator (2006 – 2013).

Prince Ikharo is a member representing NHIS in the Governing Board of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). He is the chairman of the Technical Working Group on Health Information Exchange (HIE) for eHealth Nigeria, he is a member of the Digital Transformation Technical Working Group for Nigeria, he is a member of the Presidential Sub-committee on Citizen Data Harmonization, and he was also a member of the National Technical Working Group (NTWG), Nigeria Vision 20-2020, ICT Thematic Area.

Before joining NHIS, Prince Ikharo was a Technology Manager at the Dar Diversified Inc. USA, a Network Engineer with Wells Fargo Bank, North America, a Technology Associate with Infiniti Consulting Inc USA, and a Creative Director, Interlace Promotions Limited, Lagos, Nigeria.

He is a recipient of the Merit Award of the Healthcare Provider Association of Nigeria (HCPAN), 2015. He is a Fellow of the Computer Forensics Institute, Nigeria; Member, Nigeria Institute of Management (MNIM); Member, Nigeria Computer Society (MNCS); Member, Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (MCPN); and Member, National Black MBA Association Inc. of North America. He has had extensive training in health insurance and health informatics topics both locally and abroad.

He attended Federal Government College Kano (1975 – 1980); he is also a graduate of the University of Ife, (1980 – 1985) with a degree in Building. He has MBAs in Computer Information System and in Telecommunications Management at the Golden Gate University, San Francisco, California (1999).

Prince Ikharo is from Auchi, Edo State, and is married with four Children.
